Precision and Luxury

Wäeger Coffee Machines

The combination of unique precision technology with beautiful design and natural materials for your best daily coffee experience

Expectations

You deserve better

The biggest flaws of current drip coffee brewers is that they aren't precision machines, they’re made of cheap toxic plastics, they don't look good, and somehow we all still expect reliable brews and a great coffee experience.

Rethinking

Better materials

How should coffee brewers look and feel? A coffee brewer from any brand looks almost identical to any other's and they're almost all made of plastic. Plastic is cheap, which is its only upside. However, we don't believe in this mantra of making cheap disposable machines that look all the same. We opted to make a high-quality product for a superior coffee experience. Luxury for the coffee drinker. Which is why our goal and vision is to only use wood, glass, metals, ceramics, stone, and other quality materials in our coffee brewers.

No guessing

Just precision

Instead of eyeballing the amount of coffee and water you put in your coffee machine, which isn’t a very precise way of doing things, a Wäeger machine automatically shows you their exact weights and ratio. Additionally you get to choose the temperature of the water the coffee is brewed at. Wäeger is the first filter coffee brewer to bring this combination of wonderful features so you get to enjoy same great result every time.

No compromises

No Plastics

Plastic components are not used in any part of the Wäeger coffee machines except in the electronic components.
Truth is, there are really no safe "food-grade" plastics. Heating and transporting water in plastic containers and tubings and passing liquids through plastic parts (which almost all coffee machines do) causes toxic chemicals and microplastics to be released into the coffee and consumed by you.
This is why we don't use plastics.

The story

Wondering why

A couple of years back I wanted to make coffee in a summer house we had rented. But as the coffee brewer wasn’t the same we had at home, and neither the coffee scooper nor the water tank are standardised at all, making coffee was guesswork. Results weren’t great. There had to be a better way. This lead me to think "what kind of coffee machine we would want to use"? This is why we started from scratch rethinking everything from materials to water flow and to even the buttons.

Lomma

Our first machine

Our first Wäeger filter coffee brewer is called Lomma, inspired by and named after a small coastal town in Sweden. The Lomma is made of dark wood, brass, steel, aluminium, and includes an aqua-coloured glass water tank and carafe. Lomma has a display which automatically shows the exact quantities of water and coffee you have put in, their balance, the type of brew to expect, and the phase of the brew and its duration. The Lomma brewer also features an automatic bloom phase.
